Toby Alexander McIntyre

Born and raised in Butte, Montana, Toby couldn't get out of there quick enough. Butte is an old copper mining town with emphasis on the word "old". Their claim to fame is that The Dumas Brothel was the longest continuous running house of prostitution in the old U S of A. It finally closed in 1982. THIS is where Toby McIntyre grew up. It's the only city in the US where possession and consumption of open containers of alcohol is allowed on the street throughout the entire town. He ran as fast as he could from his podunk background. But little does Toby know that he IS Butte. Deep down, part of his upbringing, was a die hard work ethic and a strong Irish Catholicism. The joke around the area back home is that everyone in Butte is related somehow. That can be kind of gruesome in thought but it makes for a tight knit community of loyalty, tradition and family.

Right out of high school, he left for Los Angeles, California, where he just finished his education at UCLA. He still feels small town though and tends to act more worldly than he is. He regularly returns home to visit family and friends. His father died when he was young, the victim of a coal mine cave in. He keeps in close touch with his sister who lives in Nantucket, Massachusetts.

Once he was in college, he quite literally began to do everything he could to do everything he never did back home. Sowing his wild oats, he almost flunked out of school during his freshman year. He discovered that the California girls really are something special. The beach called him almost daily so many of his professors at UCLA never knew who he was because he never went to class. Toby's family was not rich by any stretch of the imagination so he was quite poor, living with various people to be able to pay for his education. About half way through his second year at college, he found a way to not only pay for school but also many of the incidentals needed when you're a 19 year old guy living in southern California. Weed, surfing supplies, booze....the important things. Of course you also need to flash the cash for the ladies too. Toby started dancing at the male strip clubs and various sorority functions close to campus. It was in the backroom sorority parties where he made much of his money and solidified his reputation as a ladies man. He never got so much attention. He counted himself as blessed and even received a car from one of the girls who was particularly smitten by him. By the time he was a senior, he was well known around campus. He's a bit of a rockstar, to say the least. As far as dating, he didn't really have the time. The college girls loved his tanned, lean body, bottomless blue eyes and scruffy chin. He could throw a lopsided grin across a party and have anything he wanted. Of course he still had to study so once he was established, he only had to take a couple gigs a week, easily netting at least $500 each night he danced in tips alone.

A local Southern California magazine showed up unannounced in the middle of semester finals and Toby initially couldn't be bothered. Calculus was kicking his ass that semester and he didn't really want to deal with people asking a bunch of questions. It did make him uncomfortable and split his focus. How the hell anyone found out about him was beyond his comprehension so after the semester was completed, he succumbed to the pressure and answered their questions. For a kid from Butte, Montana, this was something new. He'd never been out of that state until he went to California. Now he was a coverboy on a magazine with a story about his life. All 20 something years of it. He thought it was silly but he wasn't about to turn down publicity if it would bring him in more cash.

Come stand a little bit closer
Breathe in and get a bit higher
You'll never know what hit you
When I get to you.
